At Innova, we recognise every student is unique and, as a result, our curriculum is designed to encourage independent, resilient, inquisitive, and happy learners. Our curriculum provides building blocks for our students to develop prior and existing knowledge which allows them to explore, investigate and lead their learning journey.
In our Early Years Department, we understand that children learn best by playing, observing, experimenting, and exploring. Furthermore, they discover best through hands-on experiences. With this in mind, our holistic, child-centred curriculum gets your child ready for future education by nurturing the skills, interests, and confidence they need to become creative and ambitious learners.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets standards for the learning, development and care of children up to the age of five. It prepares them for Primary school, developing their knowledge and skills. The teaching and learning pedagogy we adopt is one that is structured to accommodate the vital teaching of phonics, reading/writing, and numbers. These teaching and learning sessions take place daily.
Our Curriculum is based upon the EYFS Framework, and our students have fun working towards achieving the Early Learning Goals from the moment they join our school. Our students benefit from specialist teaching in Music and Physical Education and make great use of our sports and music facilities. Our aim in EYFS is to give the children a broad and balanced start to their education and the confidence to achieve their potential in a happy and stimulating environment. Our experienced, well-qualified staff seek to develop the children’s skills and talents to encourage good manners, kind behaviour and to bring out the very best in every child.
